Our StaffMarcus "Blade" Jones, MPTMarcus Jones is a native of Northwest Arkansas having graduated locally from Deer High School and North Arkansas College. He is proud to have played for two great coaches, his father Darrell Jones who coached him in high school and Charlie Spoonhour who coached him on the collegiate level at Saint Louis University. Marcus and his wife Angela opened Jones Physical Therapy in January 2005. He has been practicing physical therapy since graduating from Saint Louis University in 1996 with a Master of Physical Therapy Degree. His academic background includes a BS in Exercise Science and has since become renowned in our area for his Ola Grimsby spine specialty. Our patients feel very comfortable in his manual skills. Marcus was also the first therapist in the state of Arkansas to acquire an ASTYM certification. We are proud to report that he will obtain his doctorate of physical therapy in 2007. On the personal side Marcus still enjoys playing basketball and is an aging jock who still thinks he can run with the young dogs. He enjoys going to sporting events with his dad and sister Shannon. Shannon is a former Lady Razorback and to this day Shannon and Coach Jones say that Marcus can't beat them in a game of horse. In the summer this "weekend warrior" is often found in parking lots throughout the country playing in Hoop-It-Up 3-on-3 tourneys with some of his college buddies. However, his favorite past-time is spending time with his wife Angela and 2-year-old daughter Addie. If you get the chance to shoot the breeze with Marcus, make sure to ask him about the “blade” haircut. Seriously, what is a Billiken anyway? Angela JonesBehind every great man is a great woman, and the beauty that stands behind Marcus Jones is his Wife, Angela. Angela grew up in Lawson, a small town in South Arkansas. She graduated from Union High School in 1994 where she played Jr. High basketball and was a Jr. High and Sr. High cheerleader. She continued her education at the University of Central Arkansas and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. After graduating from UCA, she moved to northwest Arkansas, taking teaching jobs at Lead Hill and Bergman. While teaching, she was introduced to Marcus, whom she married in 1999. Angela has taken a break from teaching to stay home with their beautiful daughter, Addie, but finds plenty to do since opening Jones Physical Therapy with Marcus in 2005. When Angela isn't busy with clinic business or prepping Addie for a pageant, she plays a mean second base on the church softball team and directs the children's choir in some top-notch musical programs. Whether it is a children's activity or organizing a function for the clinic, Angela is the "get it done" lady! We are privileged to have her as part of the JPT staff. Lynn JonesLynn joined the JPT staff in February 2008 as our Patient Care Coordinator. She works with patients on insurance benefits, financial assistance and general problems that arise. Lynn has a great attitude and genuinely cares about our patients and helping them get the therapy they need. We are so glad she is part of our team...since she was already part of the family. An Arkansan by birth, Lynn grew up in Little Rock and graduated from McClellen High School. Her background includes retail management and general management in the import/ export business. Lynn is married to Max Jones and they share 3 children and 4 grandchildren. She is a wonderful cook and enjoys reading and playing with her grandchildren. In her younger days, Lynn was a self-proclaimed "Hippie" and still loves Led Zepplin, Jimmy Hendrix and the Stones. When you are in the clinic, be sure and ask her about seeing Jimmy Hendrix in concert! Kim Johnson, OTR/LKim Johnson has a BS in Occupational Therapy from the University of Central Arkansas. She came to JPT in 2005 with a potpourri background including burn care, inpatient rehab, acute care and pediatrics. She loves to splint hands and hopes to add "CHT" credentials to her title in the next couple of years. Her patients love her for the compassionate care she gives. You will not find a kinder OT than Kim. Kim and her husband Bob have 2 daughters, Emily and Abby and 3 furry children, Kramer, Phoebe, and Daisy. She loves playing softball, golf, snow skiing, and running. She recently finished a 100 mile endurance run and was able to walk independently the next day (It wasn't pretty and neither were her toenails!) When you are in the clinic, please be sure to take a look at Kim's skydiving picture. Leo Krajewski, ATCLeo is our newest addition at JPT. Although a New Yorker by birth, Leo graduated from Cumberland Regional High School in Bridgeton, NJ and lived in Stoddard, WI for a large part of his younger life. He attended Lock Haven University where he played football and received a B.S. degree in Health Sciences/ Athletic Training. While in college, Leo joined the Army and served in the Medical Service Corp. He did his basic training at Fort Knox, advanced training at Fort Bragg and officer training at Fort Sam Houston. Leo also has a Masters degree in Exercise Science/ Exercise Physiology from Illinois State University where he was a Graduate Assistant in charge of soccer and wrestling. Leo has worked in a variety of settings including colleges, hospitals and private clinics. He most recently spent 12 years in Batesville, AR at White River Medical Center and Batesville High School. When Leo isn't out working with the sports teams, he can be found relaxing with his wife, Christie. (She's a massage therapist, so he never has an excuse for sore muscles!) Leo and Christie spend lots of time with their four feline children and he also enjoys lifting weights and reading. Leo is currently working with the Harrison sports teams and implementing some great training programs for our athletes. He will also be available to area schools for sports event coverage. We are proud to have Leo on board and look forward to having him whip us all into shape! Keisha Lawson, PTAKeisha became a JPT team member in June 2007. She grew up in the Springfield, MO area and graduated from Hillcrest High School. While in high school, Keisha was active in the varsity and madrigal choirs. She even had the opportunity to travel to Austria and the Czech Republic to sing in beautiful cathedrals. Her latest accomplishments include graduating from Ozarks Technical Community College with an Associates of Applied Science as a Physical Therapy Assistant. She has a special interest in manual therapy and is a certified ASTYM provider. When not at JPT, this only child can be found reading, mountain biking (not at the same time!) or watching her beloved Cardinals play baseball. Keisha claims that she was never an athlete, but she has become quite a runner since starting here at JPT, and she dove into snowboarding this year full tilt...even doing a double black diamond! She is an adrenaline junkie and compensates for her non-sports up-bringing by sky diving, bungee jumping and parasailing. Don't let this sweet, quiet Missourian fool you...she used to ride a motorcycle and is quite the "guitar hero expert." Keisha is also an active leader in the local K-Life chapter (non-denominational teen ministry.) Keisha loves Mexican, Italian and chocolate foods, so she fits in well here at JPT! Her personal goals for the future include running a marathon and learning to swim. You go girl! Brittney RaverBrittney joined the JPT team in February 2007. Her smile is the first thing our patients see as she serves as our front desk receptionist. Brittney grew up in Valley Springs and graduated from Valley Springs High School. She was active in basketball, volleyball and cheerleading in her "Tiger" days. Brittney loves the outdoors and can be found camping at the lake or river when she is not at work. Brittney's passion, however, is the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball team. She is the president of the So Taguchi fan club (Harrison, AR chapter) and is the proud owner and wearer of his jersey/ shirt. If you want to know the way to Brittney's heart, you have to get her breakfast…everyday. She likes biscuits and gravy and bacon! Scott Stone, CFOScott is the Chief Financial Officer of our well-oiled machine of a clinic. He joined our staff part-time in 2005, but we are glad to have full ownership of him now. Don't tell him we said this, but he's a really nice guy and he's easy to work with. He is happy to help patients and their families keep their accounts manageable. Scott earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Missouri State University and recently finished his master's in financial analysis from the College for Financial Planning. He is also a licensed CPA. Scott is an honorary native of Harrison. He moved to the area in ninth grade and is a proud former Harrison Golden Goblin basketball standout, being inducted into the Goblin Hall of Fame in 2006. Don't get him started on the "glory days." Thanks to those glory days, he is currently one of the clinic's "work in progress" future success stories. Scott is married to Shelly, a native of Harrison and they are raising two NBA-bound sons, Jonathan and Nicholas. Scott is a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan (most of his family still lives in KC) and he can easily be bought with a Dr. Pepper and a chocolate chip cookie! Sam WilsonSam Wilson is our newest Physical Therapist here at JPT, joining us in April, 2008. He comes with a background in hospital based outpatient therapy. Sam is a Harrison native, graduating from Harrison High School in 1982. He received his master's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Arkansas in 2001 and was formerly the Interim Director of Rehabilitative Services at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. Sam enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. Sam and his wife, Amy, have been married for 21 years and have one child, Audrey. They are active members of Faith Assembly of God, where Sam is involved in the instrumental and vocal music specials. When he isn't busy at work or church, Sam can be found playing basketball and golf. He also volunteers as a board member for the Medical Mission Clinic of Harrison which helps the uninsured with health care needs. Sam is a Mountain Dew-a-holic, so he fits in well here at JPT! He also has the distinguished honor of "playing" for the Arkansas Razorbacks in basketball and football...playing for the band, that is! He was a top notch trombonist and still blesses his church congregation with his talent. Jessica SmithJessica Smith is our head rehab tech and fellow Mountain Dew-a-holic. She is a Bergman High School graduate, where she was on the Jr. and Sr. Varsity cheerleading squads, National Peer Helpers and was elected to Who's Who Among American High School Students. She continued her education at North Arkansas College, where she received a degree in Surgical Technology and became a Nationally Board Certified Anesthesia Technologist. Lucky for us, Jessica decided to take a break from the OR and work in rehab for a while! When she's not at Jones PT, Jessica enjoys taking family vacations at the ocean and entering fishing tournaments. She and her husband Danny share an adorable son, Clayten, who is 4 years old. Jessica is also an avid hunter and we hear she is quite dangerous with a bow in her hand! And of course, Jessica's main interest...her main addiction...is the "Dew." |
